Strong Finish Needed to Secure No.1 Seed

6/8/24

Back on Winning streak with a win against Little Rock Rangers Academy (2:1)

Buffaloes end their away campaign for the year with a last-minute win against the Little Rock Rangers. The game was decided by an individual moment of brilliance from Vitor Matos Pereira, who took on 2 players and placed the ball in the bottom left corner of the goal.

Things did not look great for the Buffaloes halfway through the match as they headed to the locker room with a one-goal deficit. (0-1)

Filip Maksimovic scored his eighth goal of the season to tie the game at 1-1 with 1 minute into the second half. The game was played in rough conditions with high humidity and temperature. Both teams struggled to create much for the majority of the second half before Matos scored to put the Buffaloes ahead in the last minute. Cristobal Goldberg recorded 2 assists on the day.

"I am proud of our guys for fighting through this match. We did not look good today so to walk away with a win is a huge deal", said the head coach Luka Milicevic.

"The next 8 days are the most important days for us this year. We are hosting both the number 1 and number 3 teams in the conference. 2 wins put us in a position to host the playoffs, which is what we prefer - to play in front of our fans", continued coach Luka.

The Buffaloes are hosting the River Valley Bully's on Saturday 6/15 (Custer Stadium), and the Arkansas Wolves on Tuesday 6/18 (Oklahoma Wesleyan Soccer Complex). Both games are scheduled for 6 p.m.
